Does changing employer create a new right of option?
Not on its own. The right relates to specific events, such as first starting work, certain returns to work after unemployment, moving to France or receiving only a Swiss pension. Have the relevant event checked before relying on a new deadline.
Prepare your French income tax return
As a French tax resident, check the returns and supplementary forms required for Swiss income, including form 2047 where applicable. The deadline varies by tax year, department and filing method: check impots.gouv.fr.
Compare LAMal if you intend to switch insurer
LAMal does not need to be renewed each year. If you want to change insurer on 1 January, check the conditions and when your cancellation must be received with the insurer and the FOPH. Switching insurer does not reopen the France–Switzerland right of option.
