Cross-border budget: what is left in euros

Your Swiss salary may look comfortable. What matters is what remains after household expenses, in the currency you use to pay them.

Your calculation

A fall in the EUR value of 1 CHF reduces the euro value of your salary. Expenses remain as entered; no healthcare cost is deducted twice.

Scenarios disappear when you leave or reload this page.

Understanding this result

See your room for manoeuvre, even when exchange rates move.

CHF income is converted at the rate entered, then added to other euro income. Healthcare, housing, commuting and everyday expenses are deducted once. The second result changes only the exchange rate to isolate its effect.

Why include healthcare in the budget rather than net salary?

Statutory health contributions and supplementary cover are separate expenses from Swiss payroll deductions. Entering them separately avoids forgetting them or counting them twice.
